An interesting light-hearted novella with lessons on inclusivity, kindness and understanding your self-worth. Based between the third and fourth books of the Stormlight archive there is not a huge leap in the plot but it has created intrigue for the next part of the story. It does seem likely to be an important part of the backstory for the events of Rhythm of War, I recommend reading this novella as part of the full series.

I know Chiri-Chiri looks like everything else on this planet, like some nasty crab slug thing, but honestly I picture her as a sugar glider because she's too cute to have carapace 😂🐭

Enjoyment is not a term I can use to describe how I felt reading this book. Addiction, yes. Amazement, yes. Discomfort, yes. Enjoyment. No. This is a heavy read with themes of abuse, SA and loss. But it also inspiring with significant character development, growth and healing depicted throughout The Elements. Overall a beautiful piece of prose.
