I’ve been reading a lot of slow paced books lately, so I’ve kinda trained my brain back to the way fantasy used to be written. I’m enjoying this, but I have no clue where we’re headed.

Milkteeth brings a whole different conversation to vampires. A comparison to feeding young fledglings to breastfeeding newborn humans. The mommy issues in the book are innumerable and hunger is a plenty. The story was very unique and kept me sat wondering who our author was even speaking to, mess after mess.
Caitlin Starling’s writing is so poetic even in its darkest moments. Every paragraph of this was packed with quality.
While this story won’t be held close to my chest like The Starving Saints, it’s a solid novel! And I love how different it is in telling about vampires. A must for anyone who wants another vampire novel to put on their list.
Spoiler-ish Below: I did find the story a bit slow. It’s crazy because so much is happening, but I think it may be because our main character is just so contained. The plot twists were twisting and I audibly gasped a lot. Just when I thought I’d reached a long lull, I was snapped out of it. I longed for more connections between our main character and wish we could have a slightly more developed romance. Dare I say I wish for some more pages to make that happen?
