As dark as this retelling was, it was surprisingly sweet thanks to the characterizations of Toadling and Halim. I really enjoyed this take on Sleeping Beauty.

Tiffany is such a great protagonist, I love her no nonsense manner. Also having a great time with the humor, this book is right up my alley

Great read so far, this is a good intermediate level book on astrology. I am enjoying reading about how the moon and Saturn reflects the experience of the maternal and paternal role models (not meaning who they are exactly, but how the individual experienced them) the author is really clear about this and I appreciate it, its nuanced as opposed to a lot of the bad astrology takes floating around that flatten and simplify these kind of concepts. Also, just getting into the part explaining the concept that the sun represents our energy which feeds our needs (our moon placement), I’m finding it overall helpful.

I need opinions before reading the book

UPDATE: Okay you all have officially convinced me to give the first book a try!! Despite my incoherent rambling and being unable to pinpoint my exact issues with the movies, you guys nailed it! The characters are very important to me. Based of these comments I might actually really enjoy the books!

Hello, so I feel a bit torn. I like the basics of hunger games. I like seeing hunger games book specific content, and think it sounds interesting and it makes me want to read it, but I absolutely hated the movies. The movies were slow, and I feel the story wasn't at all well explored or explained. The characters didn't stand out especially except katniss and peeta ofc. I feel like the books get so much love, but I wanna know if it's worth trying.

Now my question, is the book better than the movies and if so what's the biggest differences you see? I want to like hunger games so bad, but if the books are true to the movie then I don't know 😅 I love reading and technically these books are right up my alley, but the movies threw me off. So yeah- any opinions at all are helpful! Minor spoilers is not big deal for me either.

Am I the only one that can't stand Jamie? He's so annoying with his broody attitude. I like the grumpy/sunshine trope as much as the next person, but I draw the line at the love interest being rude toward the main character for literally no reason at all. I don't care what sort of sad backstory he may have, it does not justify him acting like a prick. I fear I won't be able to enjoy the romance because of him
