I've never read an autobiography/memoir, so I'm looking for recommendations. What's the autobiography you couldn't put down, that you think more people should read, and why?

I support womenโs rights and wrongs, whatโs your favorite story that has to do with feminine or female rage? Iโve read Hungerstone, They Never Learn, and a few others. I have Poppy War on my list to read. Anyone got book recommendations for a lady angry at the world? ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ

Physical book readers - I was chatting with some bookish friends and we were talking about managing shelf space.
Are you the type of reader to keep all your books, or do you unhaul? If you unhaul, do you do it as you read or do you do it maybe once a season?
How else do you manage your space?

I know Buwan ng Wika just passed but I missed it (I don't live in the Philippines anymore) ๐ฉ This is a plea for book recommendations for all my kababayan ๐๐ฝ
Currently I have Bata, Bata Pa'no Ka Ginawa and looking to find a copy of Kalahating Bahaghari and Hurricane Wars. I visit about twice a year so I want to make it a point to buy more Filipino books, or at least books by Filipino authors.

This thought occurred to me as I've currently got some kind of heavy cold/flu thing going on. Whenever I'm under the weather, I can never bring myself to read! It doesn't matter how hooked by a book I am, if I'm ill all interest in reading goes right out the window. Instead I turn to a strict diet of media content, or gaming. Is anyone else like this? Or are you the opposite? Or is there some other random outlet that you use?

i have been playing and very obsessed with this game lately! the aesthetic is very hard to describe but it's kinda like if you mashed a roguelike dungeon-crawler with a colony sim/farming game but also make it a parody of religion? maybe like Hades and Animal Crossing mashed together?
i don't know, but the core vibes i'm looking for is horror with some fantasy thrown in, that has a fair bit of humor, and features some sort of religion, cult, or maybe just a cool monster! (also to add i have heard about the graphic novels!)

Alright, I think weโve all seen the discourse around Kuang and the hate she gets, and then the amount of support she also receives. The fact that someone accused her of using AI when she has publicly spoken out against AI in creative spaces.
Any thoughts? Iโm a Kuang fan but I understand why people wouldnโt like her writing style. I am very welcome to critiques to her writing, but sometimes the intense hate she gets I feel like is somewhat unwarranted.

Hi community ๐ I was just wondering what characters look like when youโre reading! Is it just a body with some hair, or do you go into the details of eyes, hair style, hair type, shoes, etc.
My friend imagines everything down the details (especially if theyโre not given) to fill in the gaps, she says it makes them feel more real! I read Donโt Let The Forest In and I just imagined a curly headed male shadow for one of the characters ๐ญ maybe Iโm lacking in creativity haha but lmk what you guys imagine down in the comments because Iโm curious!!

I'm new to this wonderful community. Any tips for a newbie? What's the best way to engage with with people? I'm so used to just dm-ing people and yapping with them, but I know that probably isn't the case here.
