What the hell is Aaron’s problem with pregnant women? Twice now he’s body shamed them. Just misogyny in plain sight I’m assuming.💀

There’s so much whimsy in this book, and even though it’s so short it’s still done such a splendid job of introducing and making me fall in love with our MC Oliver the very minor mage and his sarcastic familiar Eglamarck the amardillo that I actually teared up a bit at the end when they both get home safely, bringing the rain with them.
My only complaint is it seems like the version I read (which I borrowed from my local library) is still in need of a proofreader, because I’ve spotted no fewer than 5 typos and some inconsistencies in formatting. That being said it’s still a really good novella and, as this is the first book I’ve read from T. Kingfisher, it’s successfully persuaded me to pick up more of her works.
