I honestly don’t know if I loved it or not. It was a good, cozy read—light, gentle, and quietly emotional. But I couldn’t shake the feeling that the first part could’ve been completely cut without losing much; the story really finds its footing in the second half, and I wish the book had focused more on that. The stories and characters felt a little shallow to me, though maybe that’s just the nature of cozy reads.
I would recommend this if you want a quick, comforting read, maybe as a break from a highly emotional book, or to balance out a recently finished dark novel, but that’s about it. It doesn’t really leave a lasting impression, mainly because of the lack of depth in both the characters and the plot.
