Soooo, every time I finish a book, I have this rule that I can’t start another book that same day. I need to let the book sink in for a little while first. I have no idea when I started doing this, but it got me wondering: what are some of the weird or oddly specific rules you have for yourself when it comes to reading? 👀

Hi Boundlings! I need your help with some recommendations 😊 I’m looking for a standalone book for our international students’ book club. We read books in German as a different way of learning the language. It can be by a German-speaking author or a translated book. For our next read, our moderator suggested something Christmas- or winter-related. A movie adaptation would be a nice bonus, but it’s not a requirement.

Of course, the first thing that came to mind for us with Christmas + book + movie adaptation is A Christmas Carol, but I’d love to have more options to choose from! That's also how I ended up finding The Man Who Invented Christmas, which sounded really interesting, but unfortunately it’s not available in German :( and I’m trying to find something else that fits, but I’m struggling a bit.

Some context: So far, we’ve read two books together: The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind and The Neverending Story. Since both had movie adaptations, we started a small tradition of watching the movie at the end of the semester. We noticed that the non-fiction one, was a bit easier to understand and captivated us more than the fantasy one, but we’re open to different genres.
