I just signed up to be a bottle foster for a local rescue org, which means I might be responsible for naming litters of kittens soon, a task which I do NOT take lightly lmao so what I want to know is, which book's cast of characters would you name a litter of kittens after?
I just finished Six of Crows so the first crew that came to mind for me was Kaz, Inej, Nina, Matthius, Jesper, and Wylan, all of which would make truly excellent kitten names imo π§ What about you?? (do not say HP, it's overdone and also ..... just no lol)
The Old Man and the Sea
Ernest Hemingway
"And bed. Bed is my friend. Just bed. Bed will be a great thing."
why are u me old man??? most relatable thing i have ever read ππ
"litter" #2 of foster kittens turned out to be just one little guy, one tiny, angy, little guy who wants to fight EVERYTHING lol so i present to you all: kitten Inigo!

he's been here since Wed after being found by the side of a road all by himself π₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ί he is severely underweight but won't be for long the way he is eating lmao

once his 2wk quarantine is up i hope he and newly-adopted kitten Gideon Nav can bond over kitten sword fighting techniques βοΈπ§π
I love checking out the library updates and seeing such interesting books on my feed. Only on PB do I get to see such a diverse collection of titles many that are super niche and on topics I never would have come across in my own or on any other platform. The science of colors, monster smut, textiles, two-spirit indigenous practices, etc...
I've been reading so much more this year. Y'all have really diversified my books and also helped to increase the number of non-fic books read by a whole lot (I've been trying to for years but never have been as successful as I am rn).
Just a shout out to you all.β€οΈ. Y'all are so cool. Your tastes are so cool. I wish I could yoink them all without getting overwhelmed π€

i'm too impulsive and distractible for any kind of system other than occasionally scrolling through the Quests page on my profile, clicking into the ones that strike my fancy that day, browsing through the books in that quest, and placing library holds or looking for affordable copies of the books that look interesting that i haven't read yet. then once i own a book or a library hold comes in it's a whole other round of nonsense as they join the mixing pot of All Books Currently Available to Me, wherein all books are at the mercy of my mood the day i dip into the pot, what i read last, what's going on in the world that week, the weather, the phase of the moon, and whether Mercury is in retrograde π π
tl;dr: no structure, only vibes lmao β¨ππ
Iβve checked and I couldnβt find a specific post so hope Iβm not duplicating!
As more quests come through and they all look so good, it feels a bit overwhelming thereβs literally so many books to read and obviously I want those badges!
Iβm curious to how people are:
Iβm not really a spreadsheet person (do enough for work) and currently in the process of transferring the quests and all their books as part of my bullet journal! I then have spins wheels for each quest which usually pick my next 5 out of each quest! But Iβm curious as how other people are navigating it?

i do realize that this is insane, but i want to follow everyone on PB, i dont want to miss a single update or opinion!! π i also realize not everyone will want to follow me and that's perfectly ok lol i am at peace with my "following" count forever being much higher than "followers" π€·ββοΈ
Is anyone else trying to keep their following as mutuals? My brain is failing me with the proper terms for this. But basically I check my follower/following and think 41 followers, 44 following which is followers plus the PB creators and that one person I like whoβs not a mutual.
Iβve got a weird βno man left behindβ mindset that Iβm not sure Iβve had on other social mediaβs and Iβm just wondering if anyone else is feeling or operating the same way.

i have literally read more in the past 3 months since joining PB than i have in the previous 5 years for this exact reason!!! there are just too many interesting books coming across my feed π€·ββοΈ and this was something i really struggled with before, wanting to read more but not really knowing where/how to find good recs; i had a LOT of partially finished books laying around that had just... failed to delight in one way or another. now i cannot keep up with all the books i'm genuinely excited to read! i think it's safe to say that joining this community on this app has singlehandedly resurrected my childhood reading habit, like a shot of adrenaline to a dying heart ππ«π₯°
