When the Moon Hatched (Moonfall, #1)
Sarah A. Parker

The world building is great and I’m hooked on the story BUT I can’t stand the overwhelming sarcasm from Raeve and the unnecessary and repetitive descriptions. I’ve started to skim paragraphs atp.
I hate to admit but SAP’s writing on this one is disappointing me a bit 😭 I feel like I need to re-read TBACB to see if it’s as beautifully written as I remember it.

Hello boundlings and welcome to Pisces season! I wanted to recommend a book from this quest that I think fits well for the season in honor of our fishy friends. 🐠
Typically during Pisces season, I want to embrace being whimsical, empathetic, sensitive, and creative. I want a book that is going to make me feel a little sad but ultimately deeply connected to nature and/or the people around me. I want a book that reminds me of community and all the amazing things we can create when we embrace community. I want a book that is going to have beautiful prose that conveys a deep human truth in a way that is fresh and relatable. And I want a book that can be both whimsical and reflective.
If you are also looking for a book that fits that criteria, I'd like to recommend A River Enchanted by Rebecca Ross
The first book in a duology, this book is an adult fantasy set in a Scottish-inspired world. Jack is a bard who left his home island of Cadence but is summoned home to help find a couple young girls who have gone missing from the island.
The fact that this book is set on an island with some aquatic imagery makes it feel even more suited to Pisces season! 🌊
Have you read this book before? Do you think it fits well for Pisces season? Or do you have other recommendations?
