Her mother is suffering from addiction and her brother is missing from the front lines. Her best bet is to win the columnist promotion at the Oath Gazette. To combat her worries, Iris writes letters to her brother and slips them beneath her wardrobe door, where they vanish―into the hands of Roman Kitt, her cold and handsome rival at the paper. When he anonymously writes Iris back, the two of them forge a connection that will follow Iris all the way to the front lines of battle: for her brother, the fate of mankind, and love. I really enjoyed this book. Love Roman and Iris, and I think the plot is refreshing. Really looking forward to book 2!
I’m enjoying it so far! The story and characters are great. The writing is good. It’s not hard to follow or read, and sometimes that’s what makes a book enjoyable. It’s been awhile since I’ve picked up a more recently published YA and didn’t want to toss it across the room due to how poor the quality of the writing was (and then seeing the book has a 4+ star rating!).
I'm not sure how I feel about this book yet to be honest, its fine, not amazing but I hope it gets better since the concept seems cool :)
