  • mood readers, how do you organize your digital bookshelves?

hi everyone! i’m loving the “interested” tab for books and spent the morning moving books over so i can get some organization going. as i was deciding what goes where i felt the urge to create personal shelves by genre so when i plan and mood read i can find books a little easier. part of me feels like this will be a lot of upkeep but likely worth the effort and now im wondering if there’s a better system you all have that i could be inspired by.

currently, i use the planning feature to choose my “hero reads” for the month. these are the books that are the main event and my priority books; typically physical reads that are lore heavy and emotional. in between/during those is when i mood read, typically a lighter read to palette cleanse but doesn’t need to be. it can be something that just caught my eye and i didn’t think twice about picking it up and is usually an audiobook.

i’m trying to think through ways to rediscover my hero reads and mood reads easier since i often forget about a book once i mark it as tbr or interested. i forget the genre, the blurb, the subcategory of fantasy it falls under and so on.

so my question is, do you have a specific way of organizing your want-to-reads that’s different than the traditional tbr or now interested tabs? if yes, tell me more! i’m an organization nerd so don’t spare any detail, no matter how niche
