I really enjoyed this book, with its strong themes of found family, childhood trauma, and mental health. I was fully onboard with the story until the end. No spoilers, but I get why it happened the way it did but I didn't love it because it shouldn't have tied it up in a neat bow. This is the second book I've read from this author, and now I'm firmly looking forward to reading more from her.

This is easily one of the best books to come out in decades. I want to wax poetic about the sum of all its parts, but I'm still feeling raw and emotional from devouring it in 24 hours and I don't think I could do it justice right now. Suffice to say this is a masterpiece. I knew it was from the first page, so much so that while I listened to it on Audible, I went out to buy two physical copies. One for highlighting and marking and one for sitting safely on my bookshelf unadulterated.

I'm already crying, and I have only just met both our MCs. I don't think I'm going to be alright after this one.
