This book nails the balance between swoon, laughs, and heat. The banter is sharp, the angst is delicious, and the awkward moments are pure chef's kiss. I spent most of it kicking my feet and grinning like an idiot.

  • What genre are you willing to overlook poor quality for?

Mine would definitely be romance and thriller. For romance, if a book has me kicking my feet, grinning like an idiot and giggling over fictional characters, that's an automatic 4 or 5 stars. For thrillers, I don't even care if I figure out the plot twist early. As long as it keeps me on the edge of my seat and delivers a jaw-dropping ending, it's getting 4 or 5 stars from me. Sometimes, you're just here for the vibes. 😌

I only annotate on my e-reader because I have commitment issues and am a perfectionist. I feel like I'm gonna ruin my physical book if I annotate them. But one thing that resonated with me was finding out some readers want their books to look used aka loved. And now the whole annotating thing makes sense to me. I will still never do it to my books but I love the idea of it now lol.

  • What does annotating a book mean?

I grew up in a reading community where writing in books, making marks, or even folding pages was seen as disrespectful to the book itself. So when I first saw people annotating their books, I was VERY shocked.

I have the same feelings towards people who annotate their books as I do towards people who like mint chocolate ice cream. I respect your right to an opinion, but WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU?! 😭😂

But then I started thinking… I don’t actually know why people choose to annotate their books, and now I’m genuinely curious!

Do you highlight quotes that resonate with you? Words you’re unfamiliar with? Do you write down your thoughts as you read? Or do you doodle in the margins, kind of like how people doodle in class to stay focused?

I’d love to know what you annotate and why!

P.S. This is a safe space to share. I promise to restrain my judgment. 😂
