"Important things remain important things, no matter how much the world changes. Their essence doesn't change. If you keep them, they're bound to bring you something in return."
This resonates with me so much. Recently, I have been feeling that people at work, and generally, no longer invest care and meaning in what they do.
In writing for example, people are so used to AI that when responding to emails, they don't even bother taking the time to really understand what the client is asking or if the clients are asking the correct questions to get what they actually need. The staff simply respond with whatever AI comes up with. I feel we need to really take the time to discern our clients and construct what we are putting in written format or we lose the ability to write intentionally and critically.
I am not anti-AI. I use it a lot too, but that's after 10 years of work without it and acquiring the technical skills required to use AI strategically.
Of course I am not the best writer as is evident by this post, but I just fear people are losing touch with the drive to comprehend - which is important in keeping our humanity. I miss the liberal arts :(

i think this book is so important because it has a lot to say about humanity, and what we leave behind, and what makes us who we are. the way that the narrator interacts with the world around her as she changes, and it changes, reminded me a lot of how our perception of humanity is changing everyday. but ultimately what we hold on to (and what we fight for) is what defines us.
