Started this as a palate cleanser. Nothing beats a cliché college romance.

DNF 60% ok well sorry, that book is not for me -insta lust -insta love -millionaire romance is not for me cause like, to me, if the guy has so much money, it takes value off a lot of things. And Idk, it doesn't totally sit right with me, it kinda feels like "hooray the woman has won cause now she has a man to carry her life for her"
And yeah, the insta lust and love is sooo annoying to me, at some point I'm just waiting for things to happen, cause everything for the relationship is already laid there. There's nothing to be excited about imo, and it juste makes things soooooooo slowwww Also, no, I can't with all the romances where the MC goes "ouinn ouinn crying baby noises he doesn't love meeee, but ooooh he fakes it pretty well. But hmph no it's just acting" like come OOOOOOOOOONNNNNNN it's always so looooong and so overdoooooone, and always and it's sooooo clear that the guy DOES love her. We be sleeping HARD
Also, Indy sending updates to Ryan's sister about how they're banging??? Nope, no that feels so wrong I'm really annoyed to not love the books, cause I LOVED the covers, and I would have loved to love them and buy them phisucally for my library, but well, ig it's a pass
Are other books in this series different? I think I can get passed the millionaire thing, but not the insta lust and love, that's too much for me

What a ride. It's very interesting to read a military fantasy, it's my first and I don't even know if any other exists, but it's very interesting and I really liked to have that experience.
I liked how a lot of things were portrayed, and to have the different point of views of the different characters, as well as some of their development.
However, this whole series in my opinion hugely lacks character interractions. I would have liked to see more of the relations between them, and those we have a really relly sparse imo. I already felt like this with book 2, and I think the whole series could've been WAY more impactful if we had this, or even if more things were said for us to feel like we're with the characters. The writing style is way too dry for me, too straight to the point, and so I didn't get to really be attached to the characters. And I'm really sad, cause it's the only thing for me, that makes it an "good-but okay" read, instead of a terrific one
The very ending still felt quite big, so I can only guess how big it must be for poeple who enjoyed their read even more than I did!!
A big thing with this book also is all the messages it bares, but especially how it pushes the reader to think. It's really active reading, and I love that, to have theories/analyses, and really think about the messages
But yeah, in the "plot or character centered book", I'd put it at the opposite extreme to Abercrombie's First Law book. And I learned I'm very much a character centered girl
