Definitely a great story but there was something about it that just didn't quite do it for me. I can see it being an emotional book for most people, but personally it just wasn't something I could relate to. Would def still recommend it though!

Really enjoying the plot, setting and vibes of this so far, but why is the writing sooooo cringy?!š I want to slap every single character. This feels like a 90s teen movie where they stare directly at the camera every few minutes and say shit like "insert tragic backstory here" and "I guess you could say this was when I realized I was different"š„²š„²š„² Is it supposed to be comedy?...

This year, I've been a bit harsher with my ratings. This is the first five star review I've given this year. The storytelling was absolutely incredible. The way you grow with the characters and experience their emotions with them. It devastated me. It broke me. But then it healed me. It beautifully portrays grief and how it never leaves us, but we learn to live with it. It teaches us people aren't always who we think they are and that everyone's journey is different. Taking the time to understand them and not judge them is a huge lesson we all need. There was so much emotion in this book from the confusion of a teenager to an adult's conflict of doing what's right or doing their duty. Truly an incredible read!
