  • How much do new books cost for you?

In NZ 🇳🇿, books range from $30-$50 😢 Hardcovers cost even more (worst I’ve seen is $80 for a memoir) When I travelled overseas, I was overwhelmed by how cheap everything was!

  • Bad habits while reading....

I thought I was reading a standalone, and now 48% in, I saw that the book has a second book coming that is not even published 😭.... And now I don't want to read more of the book.....

And another bad habit is (I am trying to break free) jumping chapters to see what's going to happen next and alleviate my anxiety. The problem is that once I know what happened, I don't want to finish the book 🤧

    Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

I thought this book had so much promise but I just kinda found it lackluster. I liked Ethan and his new purpose in life and his relationship with Mia and Peter but I thought for such a superb trained operative, Ethan was breaking a lot of his "commandments." And I just can't stand when a person who is supposed to be protecting someone sleeps with them. It just seems so wrong.

The last fight scene was nice and long so it actually seemed realistic which is unusual in fiction. I appreciated that. But I didn't really get why they still cared about Ethan. I've heard good things about the next book so I might continue eventually.
