I didnât think I would enjoy this novel as much as I did as itâs not the type of book I usually read but whew! I LOVED IT! It was very refreshing and insightful to see myself in Mary, the main character. Reading out my exact thoughts was quite surprising but it made me reflect upon them and somewhat change my attitude. Truly, the book gave me hope. The language, the sentences, just the way it was written made me not want to put my book down. Sure, it has some flaws. For example I hoped Mary would meet a female best friend in all of this. It also felt a bit stretched out in the beginning with all the retelling of Pride and Prejudice but I also think it was needed to set the story and Maryâs character. Overall I really loved it and I recommend it to all the Marys out there! (as well as non-Marys)
