I am obsessed, I fear. Reading this and watching the new adaptation back to back is simply life changing. I have nothing else to say except that I love them sm🙂↕️

“When next this happens (and it will happen, again and again, because a people remain under occupation and because the relative compelling powers of both revenge and consequence warp beyond recognition once one has been made to bury their child), this same framing can always be used. The barbarians instigate and the civilized are forced to respond. The starting point of history can always be shifted, such that one side is always instigating, the other always justified in response.”
This book is so significant and important. There’s feeling in every word, just as there should be.

This felt like a “let’s just enjoy these characters and vibe” kinda read. Which was enjoyable but at a certain point I got tired of the weird pacing. And when I felt like I was really getting into an action scene it would end and there would be another smut scene (not that I’m against it but it felt detrimental to the story). That being said I’m excited for the third installment, and I hope we get more Carrion!!
