I love creepy back woods monster shit so much. This gave me the same feeling as my yearly reread of kings “the girl who loved tom gordon” and I haven’t gotten that same feeling from another book ever. Between the goblin whispers, the insane “what the fuck is happening to me”, all the way down to the glorious end of the book. I really only wish it was longer to be honest.

This is the high fantasy high I’ve been craving since first reading ToG and getting back into reading. This is also my first real venture into audio book reading, and let me tell you it’s a game changer. I don’t know what happened to my brain that I can pay attention but between the narrators, the writing, and the general story line I’m all in. Might be biased but I’m here for Florence and no one else.

Picked this up off the botanical horror quest, and wowie zowie, big love for it. If you are triggered by the pandemic and COVID-19 like settings, I would avoid. Otherwise, I recommend the read for lovers of yellowjackets and X-men tbh

I never considered myself someone who would enjoy any kind of cowboy romance, but after taking a chance with Lyla Sages Done & Dusted, I was then ready to full enjoy this New Haven from Hazel Mack. Low key, I’m shocked I’m into it so much but the way she writes these MMCs so they’re not idiot meat heads- unreal. Hadrian might be my favorite at this moment but this was a treat to read.

chefs kiss I am a die hard fan of Kingfisher, but Grandma Billy alone as a person knocked this out of the park for me. The social awkwardness of Selena, the personality of Jack Rabbit Hole (as someone who does believe in house spirits). This hit really good for me and I’ll probably be investing in a hard copy soon.

We’re gonna find Snake-Eater and tear his ass-feathers out, that’s what we’re gonna do.
