The book was ok for me. I found the majority of it a bit boring (like 60–70% of it). I felt like I was just waiting for the obvious to happen because the book already showed that both of them had romantic feelings for each other they just didn't want to confess. I did find their reasoning valid tho cuz they both had some unresolved trauma or fears, but I wish the book had gone deeper into that throughout the story.
I think it could have been better if the book had focused on their relationship chronologically instead of using flashbacks or fastforwards tho just to see the progression of their friendship and discover alongside them (or poppy ig) how they fell for each other, while also learning more about them and understanding their reasoning for why they never said anything. I think that would have made the confession feel more impactful in my opinion.
But the book was funny at times and was a breezy read once I got to the very last portion of it lol

An introduction to Historical Fiction, these books are part of the cultural zeitgeist or the 'canon' that many would recognize. Look for more niche titles in later Starter Pack volumes.
