Beasts (of Burden?)
Conventionally scary monsters, or just misunderstood? This is a list of books Iāve encountered (so far) that fit the theme of identifying the real monsters among us.

Truly a great piece of an intergenerational story that I felt captured the essence of what it means to be a real American, in the lens of an immigrant and her progeny. Khongās writing style is beautiful and paints an emotional and detailed picture of the challenges one goes through to āmake itā and how struggles arenāt limited to a time before our own, but continue to show up as tests to our human nature.

iām not sure what to title this post, but as the movie comes out Friday, iām wondering if i should try to read the book before Friday when i see the movie. i really donāt want to be spoiled, but iām also reading 2 other books and have 2 more for book clubs iām going to start reading soon, so i donāt want to be overwhelmed. how long is the book, and is it easy to read? how do you guys feel about the plot? i am a fast reader (when i am fully focused i can read ā100 pages an hour) so it wouldnāt be difficult for me, but i am really just looking for anyoneās thoughts.

I picked up this book after my Kindle app recommended me to read this during February for Valentine's Day and I knew it was romance. However, I did not read the synopsis, and nor have I heard reviews for this book... Let's just say I'm absolutely shook at what I've read so far. But tbh, not stopping! It's too good š

My first Coates novel and I loved it! Great horror book that kept me wanting to keep reading. Some loose ends that were left unanswered but overall good setup of the plot and character-building. Ending seemed rushed, and read a bit like a B-list horror movie. Overall good. I would read another book from Coates.

Well itās a good thing I read this book in the comfort of my own homeā¦
Extremely spicy but Iām not mad about it!! Learned a few things about myself as well. I came into this book blind and Iām so happy to report back that I loved it and I will be reading the next one in the trilogy!
I was pleasantly surprised that there was a plot! It made for a really engaging read!
