this was just 300+ pages of the author trying to bring back writing love letters and i wholeheartedly support him for that. however, having the main character be a love letter hater was personal. </3

  • 'Not Interested' Status

I looked through the roadmap and didn't see a request there, but wanted to see what y'all thought of suggesting a 'Not Interested' Status. I know I can mute the book, but here's why I would be interested (lol) in a 'Not Interested' Status:

    1. Since Pagebound is my main book platform, I use it for deciding what books to purchase. As I get more into non-fiction, sometimes a book has a decent rating, but I learn something problematic about the author. I don't necessarily want to mute the book, because I'm curious about the discourse (aka I'm nosey), but I don't want to spend time/money on that book personally.
    2. For fiction books, a book may have a trigger or something where I don't want to read it personally, but I still want to know about the book and people's thoughts. (Kind of like with horror movies that are too scary for me, but the plot sounds interesting, I'll intentionally look for spoilers). The book may have really high ratings/reviews, but if I already looked up the trigger/content warnings having a 'Not Interested' Status would save me time.
    3. (Minor one) For quests, as books get added to quests I think it would be nice to have a 'Not Interested' Status to signal that I have already looked into the book and it's not for me, rather than trying to figure out if it was a newly added book that I should still be considering.

I don't want to create a ticket unless this is something other people could benefit from because J&L already do so much for us!

Let me know what you think and/or how you navigate these in Pagebound without a 'Not Interested' Status (or if I missed a similar option)!
