A collection of the pilot books for popular series, for those of us who love to follow a character's journey for as long as an author will let us! Some of the below series have heavily debated starting points and book read orders--in those cases the pilot was selected based on what seems to be the most popular approach.

omgsh so i read this book like a year ago and the plot lwky had potential but not targeting the author or anything i swear roth butched it up =( although im pretty sure another factor was the craze for dystopian books at the time so explains why she wrote it lol.

if youve read the book already you probably came here ready to scream about it but if you havent, good luck. points to veronica for truly giving us an unimaginable ending, and i think that even though the story had no point whatsoever, this was kind of a deserved ending for this series. it was an.... experience, to say the least. ;)

okay so, i cant really remember what happened in this book because i read it maybe a year ago, but all in all i think this was probably the most boring book in the trilogy. i guess its necessary in order to read allegiant though, so you might have to read it if you want to continue. honestly i think that most readers who have a sense of dystopian books or thoroughly enjoy them should read this series. lets just say its an.... experience. ;)

honestly it felt like divergent was made with the hunger games in mind, as a lot of books in that era were. HOWEVER, if you've already read the main dystopian books such as the maze runner etc. you might like this as a past-time read, because i did like the concept. it was overall a slightly better than okay read depending on the circumstances.

imo, crooked kingdom seriously brought this series in a full circle. the most heartbreaking ending, albeit incredibly well-written. i read the shadow and bone trilogy before this, as chronologically it comes before six of crows but it could never even COMPARE to this series. leigh bardugo, hats off to you.

kaz brekker aka dirtyhands aka the morally gray mmc of this story. king of heists, raids, and all things criminal, six of crows was one hell of a ride! im a SUCKER for found family tropes, and here it is. i WISH there could be another heist story that could live up to this!

IF YOU LOOKING FOR AGGTM-ESQUE BOOK RECS THIS IS IT. this series is close to the holy grail of murder mystery ya fiction books. Personally, jennifer did a way better job on this series than the inheritance games. if i had to pick between them, the naturals without a doubt. found family. murder. mystery. betrayal. suspense. the PERFECT book for this sorta vibe!
