Austen’s books really remind you that they're written and set in the 18th century in SO many ways, from the misogyny to the inheritance laws. Like what do you mean some random man can inherit my family’s entire money and estate just because he happens to have a dick?! I know that was normal back then and at some point I expect things like that exist in classic books, but girl it still pisses me off so bad 🫠
