this is my first introduction to ali hazelwood and boy did i love it!

this is my second sports novel (ice breaker was my first and i did not enjoy it so i was honestly surprised i picked this up) and it is MILES better than the first.

the plot isn’t perfect by any means but it is definitely enjoyable. i live for the banter. the spice? phenomenal. it is on the tamer side of bdsm but this is my kind of kink and it quenched my thirst quite well. i can totally understand that other bdsm enjoyers were expecting more but for me, this is perfect. i do feel though that scarlet admitting her feelings definitely dragged on and i wish that we got more of them as a full fledged couple. the tiny snippets of their life in the end is not enough. i would happily read ten more chapters of their future relationship.

now, onto the characters.

lukas - oh my god. i fucking love him. he is definitely number one on my list right now. the way he yearns has me on my knees. he is such a green fucking forest. from the very beginning. everyone calls the fmc vandy but to lukas she was always scarlet. from the beginning i knew he was in deep and baby so was i. he was so patient with her, so caring, so loving so — ahhh i have no words. i love him.

scarlet - i love her brain and her mind even when it was chaotic. she is funny as hell. i wish she had more confidence but thats why she needed lukas

pen - super annoying. i cant stand girls like her.

maryam - i fucking love maryam. she needs her own book.

anyway that’s it for me. i have bride next so hopefully i’ll enjoy it as much as i did this one.
