Hello my dear Boundlings! ✨

For a few years now I've been using a bullet journal and notion to keep track of my mothly and yearly goals. I still find a lot of joy in the creative outlet my journal gives me and in organizing everything in Notion when I actually find time for it, but I've noticed that for the past six months or so I've been slacking on both, mostly because of work and other things going on in my life. Finding Pagebound made me drift away from them even more.

I do love Pagebound though and I really want to include it in my tracking more so I'm thinking of transfering everthing (lists, tbr, goals etc.) I have in Notion over. I haven't really been using my templates anyways and it gets really tedious to keep everything nice and tidy. I'm still kind of on the fence about it though.

So my question is basically: do you use other tools or methods to track your reading? If so, how time-consuming is it for you, and how do you make time for it? I'd be really thankful for recommendations, especially tools for personal notes with easy organizations of books 👀

I’m not sure if this will help out everyone I think it’s area dependent. But I’ve just discovered that I can look at an online library book catalog for my state and order any books (up to 5 at a time) to be delivered to my local library for pick up.

It’s amazing cause the libraries near me don’t have many books but statewide there’s lots of them.

Maybe other peoples areas have similar opportunities

Now that we’re a little way into the month, how is everyone going with their goals?

I have a truly unhinged goal of reading a book a day for the entire month and I’m actually on track with that so far.

I am going through a pretty rough time right now, I am always going through something rough but this time with tears. So naturally I haven't been reading much and also finding it very difficult to read in the digital format. I turned to my most trusted format of entertainment which in the past has helped keep my brain off of difficult patches of life, that is kpop. The problem is, after consuming the k content for a stretch, or spending a long time on the television, my brain kind of gets numb? Or dumb? Something like that. It never really happens with reading. I end up feeling more terrible after spending hours on television and computer and just consuming all that k content. It feels suffocating. I am not sure why I am even writing this. Reading is taking a lot of effort these days and I am not really enjoying it. It feels like a chore. I want to read more fantasy but everything is just exhausting. Sometimes I feel as if I like the idea of being a reader and do not like actually reading. This makes me feel terrible and like a performative person. Sometimes out of nowhere I would get excited to read but when actually with a book, I would just try to escape reading. What the hell.

Literally half of my notes are just, in all caps, “OMG THIS HAPPENED I’M SHOOK.” Schwab strikes again lmaooo

Holy balls this book is a masterclass on visceral description without resorting to clichés. I've had to pause because I need the paperback so I can underline and take notes on the writing.

Do you keep yours the same or do you change it based on your mood/current genre kick/ just cause you feel like it?

I like so many of the avatars, though we need more audiobook ones IMHO; so I tend to mix it up.

Can hardly stand this series but I need to read it so i can to Six of Crows

How do you guys deal with forums that are already super saturated with hundreds or thousands of comments? Do you still go through the whole thing or do you just post without really checking what's already there?

I always find it quite overwhelming and end up not reading through the forum anymore after a while and also not posting much because it feels impossible to tell if someone has already made a similar comment. But that's not what I want to do! It's so cool that so many people have comments and opinions, and I want to participate!
