So I'll be deleting this app but not my account
I've talked to my parents about this and it finally clicked how my relationship with reading prose specifically wasn't working anymore
I used to love reading prose, but for almost two years now it felt more like a chore than anything else
I've tried mutiple things to fix this. Reading sprints, pausing books more often, reading more comics/manga, switch mediums of reading, etc. but nothing worked.
And while all these things did temoprarily help, they didn't actually help with the main problem which was feeling like I was "pressured" to read prose.
I don't know why it is with reading prose specifically I have this issue with, when I keep seeing other artists do stuff more often (finish multiple illistrations in a week for example) I don't feel pressured to do it, more so inspired.
But with reading prose it's not inspiring, it's overwhelming. How I can't keep up, or join spoilery conversations or complete "easy" reading goals...and the adhd and rsd don't help with this : /
So, to fix my relationship with reading I decided on these things:
I am not sure how effective these things will be overall, or if they work so well to the point I don't return to using these apps again, but I want to give everything a try before giving up reading prose entirely
I'll leave this post for 24 hours before I delete it alongside the app on my phone so if there's anything you all want to say about this feel free to do so : )

I'm pmsing and I keep seeing a stupid joke so have a rant
Book rant: WHYYYYYY is it so common for hardcover books to only have fancy covers on their dust jacket and not their actual covers 😭😭😭
Non book rant: If I see one more "joke" about how atlus should keep Yosuke from Persona 4 homophobic I will, I dunno, force these people to read queer theory??? At least that would make them smart

Hello fellow Peanut Butters,
Lately I have come across multiple books that were added here when they weren’t out ( no cover or missing blurb) and now they are and I don’t know how to update them, or send a request 🤔
I tried “add a missing book” and didn’t work
I look forward to your comments and hopefully we will have a solution, I just want to make PB a better place 🫶🏻

Why have I put this off for so long? Oh my god, I'm already getting that addictive five star feeling. For context, I read The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue last December and it's now in my top 5 books of all time, I adored it and it was such an interesting concept. I really enjoy how V.E. Schwab writes about the human experience and how we all interpret each other, and whilst I can feel that the core message of this book is going to be that morality is defined so uniquely by each person, I know we're going to go so much deeper than that and I can't wait. Literally said to myself this morning "I need a new series to obsess over and be enthralled by" and then I pick this up hours later. I don't believe much in fate but... that's got to be a sign, right?

I've been thinking about this for quite some time and I'm really trying to bond more with others, but I've been having a bit of a hard time with it tbh. I'm a very reserved person in general and it takes me a while to really open up to others (and I'm anxious to post this but here I go lol).
so with this I'm trying to shout into the void for others to introduce themselves! I really want to make more friends on here and would love to get to know more of you and maybe some of you can find folks with the same interests too ❤️
what I especially would like to know about you 🫵:
📚what are your favourite books and why? 😺cats or dogs? (or neither?👀)
As for me, I'm jessie from germany and I'd say I read a broad range of genres, my favourite being fantasy! I'm currently getting into robin hobbs realm of the elderlings and am impatiently waiting for dead beat by leigh bardugo to come out. Also I'm trying to get more into horror, so I'd be happy if any of you had a suggestions for me! I have japanese gothic and the eyes are the best part available rn 👀
My favourite books of all time are probably the inheritance cycle aka eragon and the mediator by meg cabot, which are both most likely very based on nostalgia but I think about them regularly lol. I also really, really love anything miss bardugo writes, but I do love six of crows and ninth house the most 🐍🐇 AND!! honorable mention to the familiar which I liked a lot too!
Apart from books I'm an avid gaming, movie and tv series enjoyer! I love anything horror like resident evil, but here I enjoy many different genres. I most recently saw the new spider-man and obsession which were both absolutely breathtaking in different ways iykyk. Next week I'm going to go watch the new insidious movie!
