This may be the cleverest way to do a pseudo-memoir that I’ve ever read. It feels like it was specifically catered to me as a person who loves John Green, reading weird reviews, and reciting facts. The Sunset chapter had me weeping.

Guys I need help getting motivated..
For reference I have already read the ACOTAR series and was informed to read the ToG series next. Now the order in which I started was with Throne of Glass & Crown of Midnight. I had started The Assassin's Blade back in late August, but for some reason it has been like pulling teeth for me to finish this book.
I just need someone to tell me it's going to get better or to hang in there 😥

I have always enjoyed Greek mythology and retellings but this book is just not doing it for me. I have been trying to push through the book for around 12 months now but I've reached chapter 19 and hit a wall. The book seems to have pretty positive reviews across most platforms from what I have seen, so I'm not sure if I have overlooked something, if it's just the prose/authors style that isn't working for me, or if maybe I'm just a little dense 😅 I have found the book to be super dry and even though there are things happening, it feels like there is no movement or actual point to the story. I would love to hear from others if they found it to be lacking, but also if you loved it, what do you think I might be overlooking? What got you excited or invested in the story?

Dramatic battles, tense political intrigue, unique world building...and is that maybe some romance I'm sensing? These books are not Romantasy but focus primarily on the SFF elements. Romance is a subplot and may not appear until later in the series, but when it does, you won't be disappointed.

An introduction to the Fantasy genre, these books are part of the cultural zeitgeist or the 'canon' that many would recognize. Look for more niche titles in later Starter Pack volumes.
