This book has drawn me in and held me captive the moment I've picked it up in a way I've never experienced before. I felt so connected to these characters, perhaps as a distant relative learning about their lives, mistakes, and regrets for the first time. This is truly a beautiful collection of stories.
There are many moments in here that almost forced me to reflect on my own relationship, who I am within it, and how I express my desire. It almost feels to love so intensely holds one back from truly seeing the other person or understanding wholely their perspective.

My Husband
Maud Ventura
through the hints of satire, i cant help but relate to her on a certain level. the waiting up for her husband and creating the false appearance shes busy when really she has waited for this exact moment in particular has drawn me to reflect on the way i view myself in my own relationship and who i am beyond that. i wonder how well she really does know how her husband? she identifies patterns and makes broad claims, but there's an eerie sense that she continues to be an outsider looking in.
