This book is giving me Lady in the Water vibes for some reason and I love that movie!

This book feels a little over descriptive especially as a non native English speaker (reading in English)

As this is my favorite book, of course I’m rating it 5 stars! I love so many things about this book. I also love the movie, but they are two distinct pieces of art. They’re both incredibly well done. Maybe it’s not for everyone, but it hits me the exact right way. I particularly like how it’s more eerie than in-your-face scary.

After reading this, I found out Stevenson was dying of tuberculosis as he wrote this and it gave the book a whole new dimension! This book is super interesting and explores the duality of man. If you only know about Jekyll and Hyde from pop culture, the book is so different. Highly recommend!
