This book was billed as a locked door historical murder mystery. Let me tell u now that's not what this book is. Which is not to say that it's a bad book! But if u sip from a cup of tea and find out it's coke, ur going to find it disgusting.
This book excels in character depth, lovely prose, and strong setting. I was incredibly stressed reading about basic caving details. However, the murder doesn't happen until more than halfway into the book and the resolution of it feels less important than the journey. Read it for the historical aspect, the vivid setting, and Ada's journey to herself.
