Reality is overrated! These surreal and absurd fiction books remove logic to reveal their truths. Here the impossible is inevitable, the strange is necessary, and Kafkaesque is only the beginning.

I haven't listened to that many audiobooks myself but I want that to change. Do you have any recommendations for me? I read a little bit of everything except romance, romantasy and memoir/biography.
Here are audiobooks I really loved:
The first law trilogy by Steven Pacey LOTR by Andy Serkis (obviously!) And dresden files by James Marsters (his narration is the only reason I'm reading this series. It's basically smut to me 😔)

I’m not a huge fan of the back and forth between her university days and the 1800’s farm every two chapters. It breaks the flow of the story imo, every time I’m starting to immerse myself it force me to change timeline.

Within the first few paragraphs of chapter 1 I knew I was hooked, but realized the prelude (really well-written, heavy with intrigue and mystery, sets up for a great story, lots happening in a short amount of time) had less of an impact on me than a characterization of death introducing himself as "fantastically verbose, and transcendentally literate" and introducing his godson as "chronically suffering from a touch of motherfucker." I know we all love a story that's both well-written and has an entertaining voice so that goes without saying (and I'm already fairly certain this book will contain both), but are you someone who would rather endure a boring voice to experience a great story, or endure a boring story for the sake of a great narration? Do you care more about what happens in the story or how it's told? Because I'm realizing I'm the latter in both scenarios, and that at this point I don't care if this story sucks (which, I can't imagine a world where it does) because I am already so thoroughly entertained and swooning over the way Death tells this story.
