I’ve been wanting to read the prequels for a while now but I’m not sure if I should re read the trilogy to brush up on the details and info first. I haven’t read this series in at least 7 years and want to re read regardless, (I’m thinking this summer) but maybe it would read well if I read Ballad and then Sunrise first and then re read the trilogy? I feel like that would be interesting, but it’s been a minute since I’ve read the originals and might need to be reminded of some things. I also have not seen the new movie yet and have been refraining from any spoiler I can! I would appreciate any thoughts and recommendations! :)

Soooo I was totally mislead by the blurb’s description 🫠 I don’t think it completely ruined my expectations but it definitely was not what I was expecting…..if you get what I’m saying 😭I’m glad I went through with it the writing is beautiful, not sure if I’ll reread however.

Such a devastatingly beautiful story, and is absolutely the epitome of why historical fiction holds such a tender place in my heart. It feels kind of wrong to put these kinds of stories and books under the historical fiction category, they feel so real, the characters and the way their emotions are portrayed through the writing. Not to mention many of these experiences and hardships still exist for people today.
