At first I found this retelling of Orpheus nd Eurydice a bit odd and the story felt a bit choppy. But then it grew on me and I loved that in this play it explores grief through the relationship between Eurydice and her father. It had me crying.

If I could rate this 6 stars I would. Oh my goodness Roz and Vin’s story had me in absolute tears and I just couldn’t let go of this book. I was nervous going into this book because I don’t really read marriage in turmoil romance books, but I’ve read a couple other of Cara Bastone’s books and wanted to give this a try. Then I realized that this story revolves around lot about the art of drawing. This made me hooked. I love art and seeing Roz being able to process her feelings through drawing was so beautiful. I’m just completely obsessed with how Cara Bastone intertwined friendship, taking care of yourself, processing trauma, and rekindling love all in one book and each aspect was so beautifully done. I want to recommend this book to everyone I know.

This is my first 5 star in way too long. I absolutely loved all the characters and I loved that the plot felt like an early 2000s romcom movie.

Not at all something I would normally read, but since my work book club chose it, I read it. This was an insane book. I know it’s YA, but I kept forgetting that and had to continually remind myself that these are teens, because the crap they went through in one night felt way too intense for teens to experience on their own.
