I love picking up a random book from the library and ending up really enjoying it! This gave me mayor Book of Night mixed with Ninth House feelings, but with bookshop owners. So good! More people should pick this book up.

Reality is overrated! These surreal and absurd fiction books remove logic to reveal their truths. Here the impossible is inevitable, the strange is necessary, and Kafkaesque is only the beginning.

This might be my favorite book in the series so far. I loved these characters and this story. As someone with a heart condition, I also really appreciated that rep. I don't have the same heart condition, but I could relate to Harris' feelings about his scars and the way people treat him because of his condition. The last few chapters actually made me cry, which doesn't happen often. I just really, really enjoyed this.

This was only 173 pages, but the story felt surprisingly fleshed out. I really enjoy Ali Hazelwood’s characters and storytelling. Could’ve done without the smut scenes, though.
