Truly, this might be my favorite of the series so far. (IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE) I LOVE this pairing so much, and the story was really cute. It is an easy read, but I felt like it truly paid off in the end.
Also, I love that it wasn’t another one of those romance books where you’re dragged (drug?) along forever, then there’s a big knock down drag out fight, and then they make up and the end. It’s somehow a twist in a romance? I don’t want to explain it at the risk of ruining it, so just trust me. It’s really good.

This was no doubt a Frieda McFadden book. Very repetitive a lot of the time, and then out of NOWHERE the twist. Like, I actually enjoyed the twist, but it was just all of a sudden there but not in a fun way??? Not sure how to explain it.
I personally didn’t hate it and I don’t feel like I wasted my time on it, necessarily. I’ve just read way better books. If you want something that’s not complicated, a little spooky, twisty, and good enough, then this is a great option.

This is a beautiful book. The imagery and the descriptions and everything were on another level, and that’s saying something for Kristin Hannah. She’s always an incredibly descriptive author, but man she wasn’t playing in this.
I’m not going to lie, this one was hard to stick with at first. I was struggling so bad because I was constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop. And now that I’ve read it, I feel like that’s the point. I always forget that Kristin Hannah is such an incredible author that she stresses you out while the characters are stressed. I always realize after the fact that she writes in a way that immerses you in a way. I just found myself wanting to run away from the book because Cora and Lennie WERENT running away. I felt like I’d rather relieve myself from the stress.
I feel like I have such a connection to Alaska now, and these characters are so special to me. My heart ached so many times throughout this story. It was so sad and beautiful and redemptive and overwhelming and exactly what I knew it would be because of who wrote it.
I always know that it’s not always going to be sunshine when it comes to a Kristin Hannah novel, but good grief this one ended really nicely. Highly recommend.

This book was cute! Nothing too crazy about it, which is to be expected. I thought the premise was fun, I just think the delivery was kind of annoying. It has the normal draggggging on forever and then BAM it’s over. It didn’t ruin anything, and honestly everything was closed up nicely so I’m not mad!

This is one of those books that I used as a palette cleanser between deeper, more emotional reads, but I ended up enjoying it. I truly think this is the first Tessa book that I genuinely liked the plot. Nothing, to me, felt rushed. I connected with the characters and honestly found myself giggling occasionally.
The spice got spicy, so just keep that in mind!

This was cute and enjoyable enough. Super easy read. My biggest gripe is that it felt like it had a lot of build up and then just ended. Like, a huge plot point all of a sudden was just answered and they moved on almost immediately. So, that was kind of annoying. At the end of the day, though, I wasn’t looking for some deep, philosophical story. I just wanted a cozy read and I got it!!

Well I started reading (listening) to this and decided I desperately needed to watch the Ken Burns The Dust Bowl documentary. I didn’t know near as much as I thought I did, and just like Kristin Hannah does, she taught me so much through a fictional family.
Utterly heartbreaking. Beautifully written.
Be brave.
