Such a fun read. Really enjoyed the roadtrip aspect of it and the characters had great chemistry. Only thing I didn‘t love was the social media plot since it‘s just something I don‘t really enjoy in books. Also, I wasn‘t completely emotionally invested in the story, which could for sure be a me problem. I have to admit that I had high expectations because the author‘s other novel (The Ex Vows) is one of my favorite romance reads of this year. Still, You With a View is a funny and emotional summer romcom that I can only recommend.

I honestly don’t know why I did this to myself.

The beginning was entertaining, and the characters as well as the plot were so unhinged that it made me laugh. Which is good, because at least I could make fun of everything. But the characters somehow got dumber with every page and the plot… what plot?

I thought the MMC would at least struggle with his morals and overthink his decisions, but he didn’t (at least not for longer than one or two sentences). I also didn’t feel the connection between the characters at all. There was way too much insta-lust and the MMC made me uncomfortable. If he’s supposed to be a priest, then I’m the Pope.

There were a a lot of good messages in here. Nothing groundbreaking but it was nice to be reminded of a few things. I especially liked the chapter about not making assumptions and how prejudices effect your life negatively. Still, I think this book is highly overrated. It got really repetitive and didn‘t really dug deeper into most topics. Also, I do not recommend listening to the audio book. The random flute music between different chapters was extremely annonying.
