this was an unexpected find and rather hilarious at some bits. i thought the ending was brilliant and a nice wrap to this whole plot!

think i found another good summer read! was on an ali hazelwood marathon and am so happy that i picked this up at the time i did. bonus was because scar and lukas was featured in this and i had finished deep end already. would have been gutted to have missed that little easter egg. so bonus to ali for always finding ways to bring in past characters into her universe.
overall, plot was on the more generic end and i wouldn’t say it’s added anything new to what you’d find in other books. in length, you do get a jump between timelines but it’s quite fast paced. found the characters quite likeable and their reactions or personalities within this story to be quite realistic.
overall, was quite enjoyable.

i had some expectations for the book but finished it feeling like something was missing. maybe because we’re mostly only reading these letters (and some responses) from her pov that it just felt almost like an unreliable narrator kind of situation. or maybe that was the intention.
i did think the ending was fair. though, from her penship, as well as the change in her character and relationship development with Basam that we would see more of him. maybe it’s just me. but that’s just a minor comment i guess.
i heard this was better as an audiobook, so i hope to revisit this one day.
