I'm curious—what's everyone's favorite book copy that they own? Not necessarily your favorite story, but a specific edition or physical book that means something to you.
For me, it's my ARC of Babel. I snagged it while working at Barnes & Noble—a coworker had claimed it first, but when I got excited about it, they graciously handed it over. I actually own a nice finished copy now, but I always reach for the ARC instead. It's the perfect level of floppiness for a 500+ page book, and it just feels right in my hands. It also has the full original subtitle which I understand why the completed editions don't have it but there's something about it that just feels right for the overall message of the book.
What about you guys? What beat-up paperbacks, signed first editions, or surprise thrift-store finds do you cherish 😅?

I’m in a reading slump. It’s not that i don’t have books to read and plenty on my tbr but i just rather look for more books or get on my phone. Any suggestions?

From the provocative and challenging to the emotional and quiet, Japanese literary fiction tends to be nuanced, introspective, and minimalistic. These books contain layered cultural commentary and may lean on psychological, surreal, or fantastical elements to convey their message.

Talk about a more resourceful man than Abbè Faria, esp for someone in his predicament! 🫡

Was not aware that this is the first book of a trilogy yes, and this is my first fosse read, everyone say that other books are full of beautiful prose, now i know fosse writes beautifully yes, with rolling monologues, that tumbles along the fjords of Norway with fantastic characters like jatgier yes, his name is gier but because he said ja ja (yes) alot so people called him ja-t-gier, and he was just out looking for needle and spool of thread to button his shirt and look what happened!
