    Such a great quote

"There never has been a country on this earth that has fallen except when that point was reached where the citizens would say 'we cannot get justice in these courts.'" What a truly amazing and unfortunately relevant quote.

    Only eight days of testimony?

That blows my mind. If memory serves, in the Jodi Arias trial, her cross examination alone was a week or so. And that was for the murder of one person.

Clementine is one year old and just starting solids? You can start purees at 6 months. By one year, they should be eating plenty of solids. It's not always a nutritional thing either, eating solids helps develop jaw and tongue strength and dexterity to help with talking.

    Quotes that date this book

"She would have thought there would be something feminine about a boy wearing a ring, but there wasn't." That's the first quote I've seen that has really dated this book, which was inevitable. Also, it's worth noting that I saw Jamie Campbell-Bower (aka Jace in the movie) at a Con last month, and he had on a ton of rings, which I now find amusing.

It’s really hard not to be excited about reading this. The short chapters and bitter, loathing sharpness of these thoughts reminds me of how i used to think when i was young and (thankfully not terminally) too online. Just reading it kind of satisfies that indulgent itch to scroll bad news and hate the world, while also reminding me why I am so glad I’m not losing hours of my day to that anymore

I can't believe this trial was bigger than the Scopes Monkey Trial

I always learned about the Scopes Monkey Trial in school, but I've never heard about this. I guess that shouldn't surprise me given America's desire to not talk about how terribly we treated the Native American people.
