It’s more like a journal from Dutch perceptive about Indonesia colonialism and the slavery. Iksaka Banu is really detailed about how the government and Batavia looked alike from 17th century. Also the book is so well-researched. Even the author gave the source of his own research.
About the storyline, it’s slow-paced and a bit dragging at first. But in the end, it’s worth it to wait. The ending also realistic, even it’s not like what we want.

I don’t even know what’s this book about. It’s more alike daily life of stalker than something you can interest to know. But from what I read and got point of this book, you can see how people can obsessed about something without reason and found them interesting out of nowhere.
Also how people can change easily day by day, because the society. Sometime, the society can change you to be something better or worst. When you changed, you’ll be the one in fault position because you’re the one who obvious change.
