i’m sorry, beach read and gus everett but you have finally been dethroned as my favorite emily henry novel and leading man.
i didn’t expect to like funny story that much, but wow, what a breath of fresh air. it’s a book that feels like a warm hug and makes you feel like everything is right in the world. i’ve said it before, and i’ll say it again: i want to live in an emily henry novel. daphne and miles are very fun to read about, and they have everything i’m looking for in a romance novel: fiery chemistry with a touch of tenderness. daphne’s a wonderful protagonist, and i love that she has my dream job (and dream man, let’s be honest). meanwhile, miles is SO PERFECT that you just know there’s no man alive who can embody him. he’s the perfect depiction of a fictional romantic interest, and i get tingles all over every time i think about him.
emily henry did it again: she thawed my cold, dead heart and made me love love. the last book i read from her was happy place which was a bit of a letdown, so this was a HUGE upgrade from that!
