4 stars for it is heavy in western context and i don't really relate... but it is to be expected because the title literally said WHITE feminism. suitable for people who are not familiar with the discourse surrounding islam and the religion itself (which i am familiar with) and white feminism (which i am also quite familiar, especially with white savior-ism behavior and colonization), so for me personally the book is quite repetitive with what i already know, but for you who are not familiar with these discourse, islamophobia in western countries, and basically a beginner in these topics, this book is great! easy to read, packed a punch, and eye-opening. you'd unpacked a lot of those internalized white feminism values in yourself (i sure you do have some, because i do too). for so long i am trying to unlearn a lot of things and values that clearly is a derivative of internalized white feminism and outdated thoughts, and learning more about intersectional feminism. hope you would too!
