You hear about popular titles and wonder is it really worth the hype and I am happy to report that this was absolutely was! If you don't mind a little bittersweet tone with some sharp, dark humor about starting over, please give this one a try.
I loved every imperfect relationship and the portrayal of messy beauty of human connection. The pacing was great (I personally didn't feel a drag) and it was so witty! The writing really shined with dark humor type dialogue and did an amazing job balancing emotional depth and wild personality of the wedding guests. The life lessons at the end had me clutching my heart because there are other ways to create, other ways to love, other ways to live.

Kate Golden's yearning writing must be studied! Why does it hurt so good?
Half City is an urban fantasy that follows Viv Abbot, a demon hunter. She enrolls at Harker Academy to hone her skills and uncover the truth about her father’s murder. However, she must keep her deadly secret hidden from her new friends while navigating strange occurrences at the school.
From start to finish this one was so addictive and I was obsessing over it when I wasn't thinking about it. I can see this being an instant hit with any forbidden romance romantasy fans with a HOT romance along with a genuinely mysterious plot that will keep you ENGAGED.
The ending was so criminal and now I need to find ways to spend time until book 2 comes out.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Berkley for an early copy of this book!
