I'm wondering... does anyone ever read books out of order or as stand alones when they are technically in a series. For example Elsie Silver or Tessa Bailey books. I've heard that they can be read on their own but the worlds cross over ... but my perfectionism must treat them in a series order lol. It's hard when I pick up book 2 in a little library because then I feel like I need to buy book 1 before I can get started.

So I don't have a very large TBR, and not a lot of physical books in general. I own exactly 100 books, which makes calculating a percentage easy. I currently have 19 books on my TBR, 4 of which I've started. I always see book content creators have these huge TBR's of 200-400 books and it kind of makes me wonder "Is that normal?" Because I don't know anyone in my personal life who has so many unread books. And of course these people have a channel dedicated to books and often make money off of reading. So it might be a bit of an unrealistic comparison.
So I want to know: If you aren't a content creator and reading isn't a source of money in some other way for you either, how large is your TBR? Why is it not smaller or bigger? Do you think having such a large TBR (>200 books) is wasteful?

What are some your favorite sapphic books? I’m not necessarily looking for romance, but it’s okay if the book contains some romance. I also prefer books set in older time periods, as opposed to something super contemporary.
***Thank you everyone for all the wonderful recommendations! If anyone is interested I created a shelf in my PB library with all the suggested books. 🫶🏻

Books where a sapphic character is being a menace. Maybe they're messy, monstrous or murdering someone.
