hey y’all :) i’m looking for some fiction recommendations that have strong themes of anti colonialism, anti white supremacy, and or anti capitalism - preferably featuring strong indigenous, asian, latin, or african characters (*huge* bonus if the author is a minority as well!). disclaimer: i’m not into romance, fantasy, or the supernatural though😗 anyhoo i look forward to going through the comments and hopefully connecting with some like minds :)

Ok so I know technically there's the "so and so are reading" info button on the books' pages, but wouldn't it really cool to have a "read along" place, where we can see specifically what mutuals are reading so we join in? Right now the info is a bit drown between other types of post, or we need to check a specific book's page to see if anyone's reading it. Would that be something people are interested in?

If you had the power to force people to read one book, which would it be? For me it's The Host by Stephanie Meyer. Yes, it's the same author as Twilight but you'd never guess by reading it. It's infinitely better. Just trust me. If you've ever liked any romance/romantasy/sci-fi, if you like found family, if you like an insanely interesting and unique plot with your romance, you should give this a try. (Also, (bonus?) it's lowkey pro communism.)

Everyone is always saying that they hate third act break ups, but to me, if the third act break-ip makes me sad, I know that I am really attached to the characters. Do you like third act break-ups?

i was wondering if anyone else has authors they're too scared to read, for whatever reason. for me it's brandon sanderson and robin hobb, probably because the length of their works and how grim dark they are. (i think! but pls try to convince me otherwise). but i did read asoiaf and i got the courage to start the blade itself and it's incrediblee update: i saw INCREDIBLE fanart on twitter of robin hobb and started assassin's apprentice and omg her writing is beautiful
