I’m in the mood for a good country house mystery but also in desperate need for recommendations. I quite like cosy mysteries, nothing too gory though I’m a sensitive soul and a scaredy cat deep down 😅

Maybe this is a little niche, but does anyone have recs for books that feature card games or board games as part of the plot? All genres welcomed

Do you guys have specific places where you like to read? Are there places where you just can’t read at all? Does it depend on what you’re reading? Do you favour certain formats (ebooks, audiobooks…) depending on the location?
Personally, I feel like I can read pretty much anywhere. I don’t need to stay in the comfort of my home (couch, chair, bed…), unlike some of my friends. I can read in a café, on public transport (whether I’m sitting or standing), while waiting in line, etc. That said, I’d draw the line at reading in a car, which is not exactly enjoyable 😅

Hi all!
I am hoping you guys could help me find some genre books that do something a little different from the norm. maybe it blends genres, has a weird plot or structure, reads more like literary fiction, or takes stylistic risks.
Sci-fi, fantasy, horror, romance, thriller, etc. Any genre is fine, as long as it made you think sth like “well, this isn’t what I expected from this book/genre”
Thank you~

Who’s your ultimate book boyfriend(s)?
• What book are they from (bonus points if you share the genre!) • WHY do they have you swooning? • And if you can, tell me the trope they fall into — I love seeing how these archetypes play out.
I’m trying to stack my TBR and maybe (just maybe) move past my current obsession with Blake from The Night Prince (Wolf King, book 2).
Thanks in advance for feeding my book boyfriend infatuation 🥵

Looking to get an ereader since a lot of them are going on sale currently. Though I do want to stay away from Amazon and all off that. So I’ve been looking into the Nook and Kobo.
From what I’ve seen for both, reviews are all over the place, and some are rather nitpicky.
Anyone here have either a nook or a kobo? Which would you recommend?
Edit: It appears that everyone is loving the Kobo. Looks like I’ll be looking into getting one. Thanks for the help! ❤️

Set in Oxford 📍🇬🇧✨
It’s like academia vibes but not always but like just always in an Oxford setting because somehow my favorite books take place there. (idk if that makes sense lol)
