Has anyone noticed that it's becoming more commonplace in books for authors to set up the next round of characters for their spinoff series at the detriment of the current plot and characters associated with it? I've read a few series now where it feels like the authors are just trying to set up their next cash grab rather than finishing out their novels strong before moving onto their next venture.

This was a cute little story. I enjoyed reading it and immersing myself in Scottish culture.

I go back and forth whether or not I liked this one. It definitely had its moments of mystery and intrigue but once the secret of the omens are out of the bag and the "shroud" is pulled from our eyes it feels lackluster.
