I liked the cover of this book and have always held the quote "we are made of memories" close to me for a while so I decided to buy and read this! I have read this poet yet and most of the works were very solid and pleasant to read! There was no page that I didn't consider something worth reading and I consider that a win in modern days full of "T-Shirt" poetry. There were only five that really stood out to me but maybe I will find myself likening more of them if I re read it with new experiences. It's often hard to judge poetry because it's so subjective based on life and who you are as a person. Anyway, great little read!

This was a great Christmas read!! It's a multi-POV short novel following a couple who owns a bookshop in a small town and how they cultivate community by bringing people together with classic stories and a shared love for reading. It's a nice feel good book that tackles a lot of things I can actually relate to. It touches on dealing with depression, loneliness, financial problems, self-isolation, and grief (especially through the holidays) and how coming together can help us all heal and thrive. I thought the characters were very interesting to read about and I never dreaded a change in POV that often comes with these types of books. Each story felt familiar and relatable but also lets you in on how different people handle these problems and as a psychology student, that was fun! I loved how a theme in the book was de-stigmatizing mental health which is super important to me! I was a bit confused on certain British slang and the bit around "The oculist of Leipzig” but it was a very nice cozy read that I enjoyed surrounded by soft holiday music in my overly decorated living room.

Two stars for Lettuce and Cabbage the cats!
This book feels like a philosophy dude decided to make a podcast, and all I could think was, someone please take the mic away from him. In this case, take his writing tools away too. Zero emotion, zero big-picture thinking. Thank goodness he didn’t make the cats disappear—otherwise, I might’ve come after him. I just wish there had been more exploration of the actual questions about what would happen if these things vanished from our world.
