I mainly read fantasy (all age groups) but my favorite sidepiece genre is nonfiction animal books. I know that's kinda broad but I mean nature books, and memoirs from people who work with or are otherwise close to animals. What are yours?

I thought it would be kind of fun to see where in the world people are, and then folks can make friends with people from the same countries/ares (if they way, not pressure obviously). I'll go first. I'm Canadian, and more specifically I am in British Columbia (Vancouver Island if you want to get fancy. Try to find your country and join that thread! Everyone else?

Does anyone have a book length preference? I tend to pick up books that are 300 pages and above because I know that it’s more likely to have more world-building and character development. But 300 is my husbands limit because he can’t follow along for that long Does anyone else have these kinds of preferences??

Anna learned early that lies can be kinder than truths, and that some fates are crueler than death.

I love books, and I feel so inspired after reading! However, it is impossibly difficult to get past the first 100 pages in a book for me and I end up not finishing any books. Audiobooks sometimes help... but what is a good way to get past that motivational block? Any advice appreciated

When I was younger, the book's POV didn't really matter to me, but now I only want to read 3rd person! Which one do you guys prefer? Third POV allows me to isolate myself from the character, as I think the characters are complex and unexpected. I can make conclusions based on their actions/behaviors. But I get that third POV can be confusing with which individual is speaking or doing LOL.

Hi! I just joined pagebound like a day ago, I'm super into romance books but sometimes I'll try and branch out (I usually like a little romance in the book even if it's not a lot). I hope I can make friends on here and talk about the books we enjoy! I love the concept and can't wait to use this site more!

Lots of stuff impacts how I view a book. Plot, pacing the general vibes/atmosphere. But the most important part for me is the characters. A book can have the most amazing and unique plot but if I don’t feel attached to the characters, it’s lucky to be a three star read from me no matter how good the writing or plot is. I need to feel I miss the characters when the story is done. And there have been some really popular books with great writing and plots where the characters just weren’t connection worthy for me. For my friend, the most important part for her is plot so it made me curious what others feel is most important to them!
